focus on the stock page. He will tell you what items he looks at first
in Value Line and the significance of comparing SSG results with Value
Line data. | BG3

before the stock makes the next advance, if ever. All of the trends
were headed in the right direction, so what went wrong? Can the SSG
have a blind spot? What can we do about it? | | Computers and Software [CS] | | CS1 | Introduction to Software There

BetterInvesting's methodologies, some suitable for beginners and some
more appropriate for advanced investors. In addition, a new generation

analyze and compare companies, create and track a portfolio, and follow

money, and frustration. | | Financial and Accounting [FA] | | FA1 | Demystify Club Reports Every
club member has access to any club report. Do you know what they
report and what they mean? Explore these reports to get a better
understanding of what information is generated regarding the
investments in your club. Become a well informed and more involved
member of your club. | | FA2 | How to Read an Annual Report - Income Statement Is
This Company a Money Maker? Most investors begin by reading the
company's annual report to get a "feel" for a particular company, its
products, and its management. You do need to know what is important to
look for in financial reports, where to find it, and what it means to
you as a user of corporate financial information. The purpose of this
class is to make reading the income statement reasonably understandable
for the non-financially oriented individual. You will be provided with
the means to better understand a company's financial health. | | FA3 | How to Read an Annual Report - Balance Sheet It
is important to know the financial condition of the companies you are
going to invest in. The Balance Sheet provides the information we need
to analyze a company’s financial health. In this class we will take a
close look at what the Balance Sheet tells us about the company and
learn what some important Balance Sheet ratios tell us. | | FA4 | How to Read an Annual Report - Cash Flow What
Is the Company Doing With My Money? The Cash Flow Statement is
one of the three main financial statements of a business. The Cash Flow
Statement categorizes a company's cash receipts and disbursements by
three major activities: operations, investing, and financing. If you
believe in the old adage that "it takes money to make money", then you
have grasped the essence of cash flow. An adequate cash flow is the
single most important element to a company's survival. Because of the
level of importance of cash flow, you should have a solid understanding
of how the cash flow statement works. | | Portfolio Concepts [PC] | | PC1 | Portfolio Management Good
portfolio management will improve your overall returns, and further
discipline your approach to investing. In this session we'll talk
about when to sell, how to keep a watchful eye on the stocks you
own, and how to properly weed out the stocks that may be dragging your
returns down. We'll utilize Investor's Toolkit software,
including the Stock Selection Guide (SSG) and Portfolio Evaluation
Review Technique (PERT) for this session. | | PC2 | Beyond the Stock Selection Guide (SSG) Many
members wonder what else they can do to manage their stocks, in
addition to using the Stock Selection Guide. In this session, the
instructor will suggest some non-BI analysis techniques that can be
used to help. They are designed to be easy, yet effective.
Join us and see if these ideas help you! | | PC3 | Investor Relations We
will discuss why companies go to investor conferences and the
difference between retail and institutional conferences. You will learn
the benefits of visiting the company booths in the Expo area. You will
learn questions to ask the investor relations people who are in the
booth to help you with your investment analysis. We will learn how to
analyze answers we are given to determine if we are looking at
short-term problems or long-term problems. Short-term problems may
represent buying opportunities; long-term problems may represent a
reason to sell. | | PC4 | Financial Planning Using the Portfolio Manager Software We
will review some of the fundamental concepts in financial planning and
the various investment alternatives. The Portfolio Manager
software will be demonstrated with the emphasis on portfolio design for
an efficient portfolio as the foundation for sound financial planning. |
